Who We Are

Bear Mountain Design Architects Collaborative, LTD (BMD) is a sixteen year old architectural firm founded by award winning Woodstock Native Architect Harold W. Mayhew RA, AIA.

 

BMD provides comprehensive architectural services plus, planning, interior design, site design and construction consulting for "state of the art" institutional, commercial and residential projects throughout New England.  Since BMD was founded in 1994 it has become one of Northern New England’s most prominent firms with an average of 45 million dollars per year in projects over each of the last 3 years.  The firm’s success is attributed to good old fashioned hard work, technical expertise, imagination, team work and attention to detail.

 

Where We Are and Where We Came From

 

The home office of Bear Mountain Design Architects Collaborative, LTD (BMD) is located in the picturesque village of Woodstock, VT.  It was the historic architecture of the village and the contemporary modern architecture in the surrounding Vermont countryside combined with the inspiration of local artist and architects Francis Gyra, Charles Helmer and Fredrick Wilder which inspired company founder Harold W. Mayhew RA, AIA to pursue a career in architecture.  BMD routinely collaborates with industry leaders such as Henry J. Coupe PE (refrigeration specialist) and Edward F. Dumont (architectural illustrator) and numerous engineering and construction specialists to provide the very best integrated design services possible.
