Unnamed Future Health & Fitness Center At Norwich University

Project Architect: Harold W. Mayhew AIA

Construction Date: TBD

Estimated Construction Cost: 20 Million Dollars

Project Highlights:

This five story, twenty million dollar, unnamed future Health and Fitness Center was designed to accommodate "state of the art" exercise, strength, conditioning and applied education functions. The main health and fitness spaces were oriented to take advantage of the long range views into the heart of the green mountains as well as the short range views onto the surrounding athletic fields and a local mountain stream. The new Health and Fitness Center is to be located central to the existing athletic fields. It is to be positioned to link the existing field house to the other main athletic facilities and arena to allow for unobstructed interior passage between all components of the future athletic complex making it extremely user friendly. The design includes new and/or updated rooms for training, equipment, weight lifting, exercising, dance, aerobics, wrestling, locker/team areas, physical science classes, restrooms, storage, loading and building services and numerous additional improvements. This facility will help make Norwich University a leader in physical and academic related fields in human health.
